Position Title: Registered Nurse
Department: Pediatric Hematology/Oncology â€" Cancer and Blood Disorders
Location: Gray Street
Full! /Part Time: 2 PRN positions 1 Full-time
Exempt/Nonexempt: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide care for pediatric through young adult patients, and their families, with oncology and hematology diagnosis. Work closely with multi-disciplinary team to provide medical care, education and support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with patients, patient’s families, and medical team
• Triage patients concerns and complaints over the phone
• Review and manage lab results
• Educate patients receiving chemotherapy
• Make referrals to other physicians’ offices as needed
• Calculate chemotherapy per chemotherapy protocol
• Mix and administer chemotherapy as ordered by MD
• Flush and maintain central lines, access ports
• Draw labs
• Start and maintain peripheral IV
• Attend meetings with team
• Assist with research protocols and be able to identif! y patient observations
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of accredited RN program or higher education
• Current RN license in State of Kentucky
• CPR certified
• CPHON preferred (Must work towards in 2 years)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• At least one year experience in Pediatric Hematology Oncology
• Self-directed and motivated
• Strong, independent, decision-making skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills required

WORKING CONDITIONS
Medical office that has lab and infusion center, lots of walking, lifting, and computer time
