Manages all aspects of nursing care in the Heart Institute Short! Stay Unit. Works with HCL team to provide patient care pre and post catheterization procedures. Ensures that quality patient care is provided per defined standards of practice. Assesses and identifies patient care needs and implements appropriate interventions. Documents and evaluates the outcome of interventions. Provides patient and family with guidance, emotional support, and information during treatment of patients in HCL. Integrates smooth continuity of care between the HISSU and other patient care areas by cooperating interdepartmentally. Displays a positive image of Saint Joseph Hospital by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior towards patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers and other employees. Provides patient care/services based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations checked below; care/services may include assessment of individual patient need; incorporation of age-specific characteristics in patient education, communi! cation, and planning; provision of individualized care relevan! t to patient needs; and recognition, monitoring, and provision of interventions as appropriate.

Education:
A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year cath lab experience required. Three years cardiac specific critical care/telemetry experience required. 5 or more years cardiac specific critical care/telemetry preferred. Appropriate state licenser, specialized professional credentialing and other formal education as needed. RN competency is validated by the Departmental Competency Based Orientation (CBO) and designated annual

Licensure/Certification:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Current CPR/BLS Certification.
Specialty certification preferred.
