Description: Commonwealth of Kentucky is presently looking of NURSE CONSULTANT/INSPECTOR right now, this occupation will be placed in Kentucky. Develop policy and processes for Newborn Screening Program components including case management and research/assist with writing grants, legislation and reports as needed. Perform Q! A to assure all newborns receive newborn screening in appropriate timeframe. Perform QA to assure birthing hospitals comply with mandates and policies. Develop/coordinate/provide education training and activities for newborn screening and genetic services.

Attend local/state/national meetings to gather information and represent program. Participate in webinars and conference calls for same purposes. Participate in activities and coordination of genetic services across programs and agencies. Provide clinical review of medical records for the Ky.

Birth Surveillance Registry and First Steps as assigned. Selection Method : Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet the minimum requirements are eligible for placement on the register for hiring consideration. Group : NURSING Characteristics of the Class : Provides investigative and technical consultative services in the licensing and provision of health care programs; and performs other duties as required. Ty! pical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements : Wo! rk typically is spent in contact with providers and clients outside the organizational unit.

May work in homes and neighborhoods in "at risk communities" for violence and drug abuse. Additional Requirements : Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
