Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of car! e related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about out patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
Essential Duties:
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients, and the general patient population.
Performs all aspects of age-specific patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical /health care errors.
Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, co! ndition, treatments, responses and assessment of changes. Demo! nstrates accuracy in documenting charge sheets.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to unit manager, co-workers and physicians.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current state Registered Nurse Licensure.
Current BCLS certification
Current ACLS or Basic EKG or Arrhythmia-identification certification within 1 year of hire.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of work experience as Registered Nurse
