Clinical Pharmacist (Pharmacy) 40 hours/week Day/Evening

Description: Community United Methodist Hospital, Inc. is employing Clinical Pharmacist (Pharmacy) 40 hours/week Day/Evening right now, this job will be placed in Kentucky. To provide clinical support in coordination with physicians and nursing services in delivering quality and c! ost effective drug therapy to all Methodist Hospital patient populations. The Clinical Pharmacist provides in depth clinical information and services to physicians. This position must be able to work independently without constant or direct supervision on a daily basis by the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy. Must be able to establish daily work routine within the assigned area of work. Must be able to work independently and with others. Must be able to supervise non-pharmacist during times when the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy is not present. Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions independent of the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree; Prefer Pharm D or Board Certification with Bachelor’s level degree. KY Pharmacist License or able to attain within 3 months of hire. A working knowledge of the following is essential for this position: pharmacokinetics, drug literature revie! w, therapeutics, and aseptic technique. The Clinical Pharmacis! t should demonstrate knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills. Must embrace and support all departmental and institutional policy and procedures. This position requires use of computer based systems such as -- Pyxis, Renlar, Meditech, and unit dose packaging. The position may perform repetitive manual motion as required in typing, etc. Lifting up to 35 pounds may be required. Position may require extensive sitting (up to 80%) and/or standing/movement (up to 80%) during the course of a work shift. It requires extensive use of the telephone. Work is performed indoors, within the confined space of the pharmacy department or on the nursing unit; but may include occasional, but infrequent, travel to an affiliate of Methodist Hospital. Protective clothing may be required when compounding IV’s and chemotherapy.

Required Experience

Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical pharmacy practice including Joint Commission compliance.
