This position is accountable for the outcomes of the care and services provided in the area(s) under their direction and is responsible for producing, ! nurturing and sustaining a professional practice environment that enhances patient care effectiveness and efficiency through application of leadership principles. Administers and manages designated nursing service(s) and subordinate departments; such as, Emergency Department, Telemetry, Critical Care, Medical Surgical and other departments as assigned, plans, organizes, and directs all service functions (internal and external); develops, justifies, and submits budgets for all aspects of the service; establishes goals, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures for the service and its compliance with internal and relevant guidelines; and carries out special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Patient Care Services and/or the Chief Nursing Executive. Is a liason for other ancillary departments. Accountable for assigned Magnet Nursing designation responsibilities, which may include, but not limited to assisting with review, interpretation and effective implement! ation of Magnet Program Forces of Magnetism, operational and c! apital budget allocations for Magnet designation; Magnet application and submission process and assisting and supporting nursing leadership in creating and sustaining a culture of nursing excellence. Supports patient care, promotes professional education, and advances staff knowledge by performing and/or supporting the performance of research and evidence-based practice activities, especially as it relates to compliance with regulatory, accreditation and quality monitoring specifications .

Qualifications

Education:
.Masters of Science in Nursing Degree required

Experience:
Clinical Nurse Specialist or equivalent education and experience

Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate as applicable based on service needs and assigned project responsibilities. .Five years of management experience and previous experience in nursing administration preferred.

License/Certification:
Registered Nurse as ! licensed by state.
