Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization
Training is provided relevant to the population served, based on scope of care of the service assignment.

Executes all tasks and behaves in a manner consistent with a culture of safety and a high reliability organization; behavior supports the organization's core commitments of Integrity, Service, Respect, Teamwork, Excellence, and Innovation

Job Responsibilities:
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate

Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders

Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team

Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn

Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school ! of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred. Specialty areas may require additional certifications

Licensure/ Certification/Registration:
Current licensure as an RN

BLS Healthcare Provider

Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Department specific competencies for positions are detailed in the unit/department scope of service

Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures

Demonstrates safe lifting techniques and use of appropriate assistive devices

Required Work Experience:
None required

Specialty units may prefer related work experience
