Description: Community United Methodist Hospital, Inc. is hiring RN, Assistant Director (Nursing Administration) Supplemental/Nights right now, this occupation will be placed in Kentucky. Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the nursing activities provided on ! a specific shift of the various nursing units or areas of the Nursing Department. This includes carrying out plans of the immediate unit manager and the nurse executive while maintaining quality standards of nursing and personnel performance, controlling costs and maintaining sound organizational relationships. The Assistant Director will also take any other action that is necessary for the efficient operation of the Nursing Department and Hospital as approved by the Director/Associate Director of Nursing and Hospital Administration. Under indirect, remote, periodic supervision the Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Nursing, Associate Director, and Unit Managers in order to provide continuity of supervision and maintain quality standards of nursing. Sequences work in order of importance using independent judgment based on the needs of the department and hospital, observing established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Required Sk! ills

Requires knowledge formally gained in a school f! or the preparation of a Registered Nurse and must hold a current license in the state of Kentucky. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Requires knowledge and broad understanding of patient care processes. In addition, requires the knowledge and ability to demonstrate the following: Cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care; Apply principles of managerial and leadership theory; retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing. Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written word. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.
Must successfully complete the necessary components of the general staff nurse and the Assistant Director orientation program of Methodist Hospital. Requires either frequent, moderate physical exertion or occasional heavy physical effort as a routine part of job performance.

Required Exper! ience

Demonstrated competence in clinical practice in a related area for a minimum of two years is required.
