:

Manage department, establish policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for provision of ! physical therapy services. Provides patient care/services based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations. Care/services may include assessment of individual patient needs; incorporation of age-specific characteristics in patient education, communication, and planning; provision of individualized care relevant to patient needs; and recognition, monitoring, and provision of interventions as appropriate.

Working Relationships

:

The Physical Therapist is responsible to the Coordinator of Physical Therapy and has supervisory responsibility over the support personnel. Is in daily contact with patient, physicians, nursing, and other professionals involved in care of the patient. A collaborative effort in a multidisciplinary environment is necessary to achieve the goals and desired outcomes of patient care. Therapists in the outpatient clinic have frequent contact and dialogue with insurance companies. Inpatient therapists frequ! ently communicate with the facility or agency that will contin! ue the care of the patient when discharged.

Qualifications

Requirements

:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master's degree from masters entry level approved curriculums; licensed by the Kentucky State board of Physical Therapy. Computer knowledge helpful; one year experience preferred but not required.

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

:

Must be able to lift heavy objects, perform moderately difficult manipulative skills, and perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness. Requires the ability to stand extensively, walk, remain in uncomfort! able positions long periods of time, and hear and distinguish normal sounds. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, tissues, bodily injury, and high humidity or wetness.
