Responsibilities

Reporting to the National Business Director, the Regional Director (RD) is responsible for the successful program launch within the RD’s geographic region. Managing through a team of District Managers, the RD will oversee the activities and performance of a team of Specialty Nurse Representatives. Responsible for meeting or exceeding program goals. Essential Functions:
Manage regional staff of managers and interface with inVentiv Specialty Nurse Representatives including selection, evaluation and retention of employees
Provide coaching and training of District Managers to build a capable and effective team through continuous feedback
Creates a climate of trust so team members can act decisively by clarifying roles/responsibilities and establishing boundaries of decision-making.
Inspires ownership, accountabil! ity, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communication the vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps.
Demonstrates relentless drive to achieve business goals for the region and can understand and evaluate the potential impact of external events on the approved regional strategies
Approve and assist in the implementation of each district plans within the region
Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and communications skills by collaborating with customers and key stakeholders (including supplier stakeholders) to help shape the customer’s perception of client
Has the ability to identify issues and opportunities before others and uses robust analytical rigor to frame situations and incorporate new perspectives and ideas
Remain fully versed in promotional compliance regulations including legal and regulatory and ensure team is equally trained
Provide oversight to ensure the team is promoting ! product consistent with client policies and that only approved promotio! nal materials and messages are used in the field
Review employee performance, objectively assesses performance and addresses skill development for direct reports to achieve performance management objectives
Provide feedback to marketing department on effectiveness of sales/educational materials
Establish a plan to provide regular communications to team and to receive their feedback
Interface with other functional leaders and teams in marketing, managed care, medical, human resources, and operations in order to achieve business goals
RD is responsible for the regional budget and expense management
Frequent travel required within region and to home office.

Requirements

B.S. degree required; M.S. or MBA preferred.
Ten+ years’ experience within pharmaceutical sales with five or more years’ experience managing a team of hospital based representatives.
Ability to identify strategies with greatest business impact, formulate app! ropriate business plans within the approved strategy, and enroll their teams to execute the plan.
Cardiovascular Experience required and thorough understanding of the customer segments and regional market dynamics within the cardiovascular area.
Previous successful work experience in team selling environments, inclusive of successful management of teams,
Current drivers license and clean driving record;
Ability to negotiate and influence cross-functionally.
Excellent command of the English language required, both written and spoken.
