The Department of Surgery Cardiothoracic Surgery Division requires an additional APP III (Advanced Practice Provider III) who will provide significant call coverage ! support for the CT Service as part of a pool and coverage for the ICU. This individual will also provide added coverage on the floor. They will also be responsible for completing daily rounds with progress notes; ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies; writing orders; coordination and dictation of hospital discharges; performance of procedures; and, possible assisting in the operating room with cardiac, thoracic or vascular surgical procedures. The critical care APP III will perform the coordination of care from ICU to discharge; demonstrate strong foundation in evidenced-based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care; demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency v! alidation. They will work in collaboration with the attending ! surgical faculty and will serve as a consistent member of the surgical team to facilitate communication and efficiency with all members of the health care team.
