The Brook Hospital is currently seeking a Registered
Nurse to join our team

The Registered Nurse is responsible for implementation of
the nursing process in all aspects of patient care for all patient
populations including geropsych, chemically dependent adults, adult
psych, adolescents and children. Assures a comprehensive approach to
patient care by applying appropriate theories to psychiatric nursing
practice for all patients. This position requires a Registered
Nurse's license in the state of Kentucky.

Requirements

The following are job requirements for the position Registered
Nurse

The PRN rate for this Registered Nurse position is $20.00.
-
Registered Nurse Lice! nsure through KBN. (This is not an LPN position)

• Demonstrates knowledge of actions, indications and

contraindications, side effects, correct dosages and routes, and
nursing implications of drugs in the administration of medications
and seeks appropriate intervention for the side effect

• Responds with therapeutic interventions to disruptive behavior

disorders

• Observes and interprets each patients behavior,

demonstrating an understanding of psychiatric concepts, diagnoses and
developmental stage

• Accurately assesses patients in crisis and

takes appropriate action to insure patient’s safety

• Completes comprehensive nursing assessment and initiates nursing

interventions within 8 hours of admission

• Evaluates nursing

care given to assigned patients and revises treatment care plans as
needed

• Can evaluate in! formation provided by patient/family

regarding previous hist! ory, allergies, symptoms, etc., as designed on
the nursing assessment

• Intervenes in medical emergencies

including proper notification of administration, physicians, primary
therapist, and family
