Glasgow State Nursing Facility is a branch of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services/DBHDID that is licensed for 100 long-term care beds. We provide 24 hour x 7 days per week long term care ser! vices for our residents who have behavioral health and/or developmental or intellectual disabilities. The Charge Nurse/RN position requested prepares, administers and charts medications, makes routine rounds and performs medical treatments as instructed by the physician, performs resident assessments and drug audits, reviews care plans, provides feedback as needed, delegates duties to nursing staff and evaluates performance, performs expert clinical care as a member of health care planning teams, attends staff meetings and trainings as necessary, and performs other nursing duties as needed. *Position will be 2nd shift/3pm-11pm OR 3rd shift/11pm-7am* Selection Method : Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet the minimum requirements are eligible for placement on the register for hiring consideration.
Group : NURSING Characteristics of the Class : Supervises professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of patients ! and makes recommendations to the nursing administrator and the! nurse shift supervisor; OR, coordinates the provision of clinical services to children with special health care needs and serves as advisor and resource person to professional staff; OR, supervises the delivery of occupational health care or nursing services to employees at multiple sites; OR administers the nursing services program in a Juvenile Justice Facility; and performs other duties as required. Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements : Incumbents work with patients, clients, or employees who may have been exposed to infectious diseases. Additional Requirements : Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
