The Assistant Director of Nursing provides clinical leadership to the! households ensuring the mission, vision and values of the org! anization are supported through the clinical services. Working with the Director of Nursing, also organizes, directs and facilitates the clinical operations of the household to ensure regulatory compliance, nurture a person-centered and resident-centered environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to clinical staff on specific areas of clinical accountability including infection control, safety, wound management, falls, RAI process or other areas as determined.
- Guides implementation of clinical policies and procedures which ensure safe, sanitary and efficient practices supporting professional nursing care standards.
- Assures documentation, medication administration, resident nursing care, safety and sanitation, personnel and staff development, materials management, CQI and resident rights are in compliance with facility standards.
- Assist in hiring, orientation, training, clinical competency, education, ! counseling and performance appraisals of clinical staff maintaining a supportive team and professional standards of practice.
- Maintain working relationship with physicians and other medical personnel in support of quality clinical care in the households.
Basic qualifications:
- Current RN Licensure in good standing
- Two or more years Nursing management and Long Term Care experience.
- BLS/ACLS required
- PersonFirst or Dementia training]
- MDS Training
- Environmental Services training
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities, supervisory skills, interpersonal relationship skills and knowledge of federal and state regulations governing clinical care, nursing practice and leadership.
- Commitment to person-centered and resident-centered care is essential.
