Description: University of Louisville is currently interviewing Nurse Prac Specialty right now, this career will be placed in Kentucky. Detailed specification about this career opportunity please read the description below. Minimum Qualifications
Requires individual to be eligible for Certification as Nurse Practitioner and
eligible for Kentucky licensure as Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. Hire date would be after certification and licensure are
granted. Five years of nursing experience. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EI Preferred
Qualifications
Prefer candidates to have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience in either the PICU or ED.
Position Description
Perform histories and physical examinations on patients ! in the ED and Kids Express, order and
interpret appropriat! e laboratory and radiological tests, and request appropriate consults as needed/indicated, prescribe appropriate
treatments and medications. Perform common pediatric emergency procedures, including splinting, laceration repair, incision and drainage of
simple abscesses, removal of foreign bodies from the nose, ear, or soft tissue, etc. Provide appropriate patient and family instructions on
common acute pediatric health problems. Recommend appropriate follow-up care for pediatric ED patients. Timely completion of chart
documentation, including signatures and billing services form. Perform follow-up phone calls for patients with positive cultures or
radiology test results. Provide telephone follow-up referring physicians and nurse practitioners. Participate in division meetings,
conferences, lectures, etc. as required. Maintain licensure, certificates, compliance etc. as required. How To Apply -Staff
