The primary responsibility for the NCT is to serve as the eyes and ears for the Registered Nurse (RN) while caring for patients and their family members. Additional duties include: obtain vital signs, documentation, phlebotomy, assist with ADL's (activities of daily living) and procedures, respond to patient call lights, unit orientation, and patient admission, transfer and discharge.

The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Candidate will also need strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and critical thinking skills along with basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet.

Preferred Education / Experience

Previous medical or hospital experience is preferred and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider valid for at least six months after employment date is highly encouraged.
