The Monitor Tech performs clerical, reception, admissions, communication and coordination of tasks to facilitate smooth functioning of the patient care area. The Monitor Tech (MT) participates in the delivery of patient care under the direction of licensed nursing personnel for patients served on his/her assigned unit. The MT identifies, monitors, interprets, and documents rhythm strips. The MT performs direct and indirect diagnostic, therapeutic, administrative and service tasks necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the unit where assigned. The MT applies knowledge of growth and development in patient and family interactions to care for patients aged pediatric to geriatric.

Required
Desired

High school graduate or GED; Completion of vocational or diploma training program

CNA!

1 year experience

Knowledge of basic terminology, metric system, aseptic technique. Knowledge of telemetry monitoring system
