Minimum Qualifications

Requires individual to be eligible for Certification as Nurse Practitioner and eligible for Kentucky licensure as Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. Hire date would be after certification and licensure are granted. Five years of nursing experience. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EI

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidate to have at least three years of experience in Pediatrics Cardiology. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, clinical resource skills, and the ability to multitask on a variety of tasks and projects are crucial to this position. Proficiency in EPIC, Allscripts, Word and Excel are also preferred.

Position Description

The primary function of the Cardiology Transplant Nurse Practitioner is to obtain history, perform physical assessments and complete documents. Write patient orde! rs for medications, labs, testing and outside consultations fo! r patients. Communication and education involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Coordinate Heart Failure/Transplant outpatient and inpatient management with other services. Attend AM CV rounds, Heart Board and other meetings and conferences related to Heart Failure/Transplant care and clinical services. Participate in clinical research as requested. Will require inpatient on call.
