Humana is seeking a Managing Actuary to lead a team of associates in the assessment of! risk and designing controls and mitigating strategies to further enhance the actuarial governance and processes within the organization. In this Enterprise consulting role the individual will have the opportunity to lead various engagements designed to provide Management with the assurance that all risks have been identified, and that mitigation controls have been established and are working. Engagements will involve validating efficiency and effectiveness of actuarial processes across the entire organization including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial insurance.
This role will report to Humanaâs Chief Audit Officer in providing assurance services to the Audit Committee of the Board. The position is seen as a rotational position for building and expanding knowledge and skills of current and future actuarial leaders at Humana. Therefore, the role will also have an indirect reporting relationship with Humanaâs Chief Actuary.

The individual will be expected to be involved in Humanaâs Enterprise Risk Management program to move toward a more quantitative analysis of risk. In particular, you will be provided the opportunity to:
Provide proactive internal consulting and facilitation on risk, control, and governance processes for those areas under review
Review and analyze actuarial processes, documentation and data to identify any gaps in the effectiveness of Humanaâs actuarial governance, risk and control environment. This will include evaluating the inventory of Humanaâs pricing models and selecting aspects of those models for review.
Contribute to Humanaâs evolv! ing Enterprise Risk Management program through the development of Humanaâs Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and move the program to include quantification of enterprise risks
Partner with business and actuarial leadership across the company to identify new and emerging risks and develop approaches to monitor and control those risks
Maintain and develop contemporary knowledge of actuarial methodologies through contacts with professional associations and actuarial consulting firms
Support and guide other engagement teams and staff on aspects of financial, statistical, and actuarial analysis in order to improve project insights and streamline project budgets.
The candidate will be responsible for managing team consisting of actuarial associates and an audit consultant through providing technical and development guidance

Qualifications
Role Essentials
Bachelor Degree
FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, significant and commensurate work experience with responsibilities, and/or other relevant professional designations
MAAA
Management capability, has led staff before
Strong Communication Skills
Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analy! sis, reserving or trending) and more than one product.
