Our large healthcare client is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Low Voltage Engineer/Consultant to focus on responses to project requests. This contract-to-hire role s! its in Louisville, KY with light travel required from time to time to Lexington.
Selected candidate will be a self starter and should have a consulting background relative to this role.
Will go to sites and assess infrastructure, specifically structure cabling condition.
Must be knowledgeable in construction and has to have worked with Architects, met with end users, and understand methodologies well.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Low Voltage Engineer/Consultant
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- 4 â" 7 yearsâ experience in the design and specifications of low voltage system for construction of healthcare facilities.
- BICSI RCDD certification Preferred.
- Proficient in the review of Technology, Electrical, and Architectural drawings (blue prints) to coordinate low voltage system requirements.
- Experience in the use of Auto CAD and/or Revit drawing viewer !
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
- Ability to write, read, understands, and interpret technical documents.
- Capable of critical thinking including problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and a functional level.
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects at the same time.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to take initiative to resolve issues.
- Experience in working directly with clients.
This position requires the ability to attend client meetings (local and out-of-town), perform site surveys to recognize cabling infrastructure system deficiencies and effectively communicate and coordinate a solution with the client and design team. This position requires the ability to design projects for healthcare facilities, office spa! ce, equipment rooms, educational buildings, telecom rooms, etc. including identification of electrical and mechanical load requirements for IT spaces. The engineer shall be experienced in working/coordinating design requirements with architects, electrical, HVAC, structural, etc engineers. This also includes the coordination of fire alarm (dial tone), paging, security (access control, video surveillance, and duress systems), CATV, and AV systems requirements with other design engineers.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 2-5 yearsâ experience designing low-voltage infrastructure, nurse call, communications, video and security systems projects
Associates or bachelorâs degrees preferred or additional work experience in lieu of a degree
BICSI Technician certification required, BISCI RCDD certification preferred; OSP a plus; NTS a plus
Excellent communication, organizational and project documentation skills
Experience in MS Word, Excel, Out! look, and AutoCAD; Revit would also be highly desired.
