Description: University of Kentucky is hiring Nurse Clinical Coordinator/UKHC/Rapid Response right now, this career will be placed in Kentucky. Standard duties of a Registered Nurse; however, advanced level of practice as a Critical Care nurses required. Able to provide immediate, rapid care in emergencies including decline in patient condition is essential. Also, acts as a resource to other nurses in clinical/critical decision making. Prior teaching/classroom instruction on patient decline and failure to rescue is also preferred.

The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, continuous, and patient centered care! in a collaborative work environment. The environment supports! collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction, delegating duties to unlicensed personnel, and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.

In addition, the essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 to 100 pounds occasi! onally and 25 to 50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate must be respectful, accountable, a self-motivated team player and willing to support their fellow nurses. Must enjoy working in a stressful, fast paced and challenging environment and have the ability to handle multiple interruptions while prioritizing and maintaining focus on the patient. It is also necessary to be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, patients and family members from various backgrounds in a professional and respectful manner. Knowledge of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Gordon's Functional Patterns, along with Roy's Adaptation model is a must in clinical practice at UK Healthcare. Candidate will also need strong organizational, decis! ion making, and critical thinking skills along with basic computer navi! gation skills and working knowledge of the internet

Preferred Education / Experience

5 years critical care experience preferred. Prior Rapid

Response experience is also preferred. CCRN is required or within 12 months from job acceptance. Advance to Gold level on NPA within 12 months of job acceptance is also required.
