Job Skills/Requirements

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in care of patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Cares for patients of all ages. Demonstrates safe and appropriate skills in completing assigned tasks for all patients. Verbal communication skills are required to communicate one to one with patients and to relay requests of patients to licensed personnel. Visual acuity is required to read patient care assignments and to document patient care information. Hearing acu... [more] The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in care of patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Cares for patients of all ages. Demonstrates safe and appropriate skills in completing assigned tasks for all patients. Verbal communication skills are required to communicate one to one with patients and to relay requests of patients to licensed personnel. Visual acuity is required to read patient care assignments and to document patient care information. Hearing acuity is required to communicate with patients and nursing staff, answer phones and patient call lights, and responds to alarms. Requires knowledge and skills in working with complex and intricate equipment, such as: physical assessment equipment, personal grooming supplies, room equipment, comfort devices, desk equipment, transportation equipment, and various drainage tubes and receptacles. Requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, turning, bending, stooping and lifting of weight in excess of 50 lbs. Hand dexterity is required to handle delicate supplies and equipment. Must be certified in CPR by the end of 90 days. The job includes the responsibility to uphold the mission, vision, quality statements as well as the values as set forth by the organization. Hours are 11p.m. - 7a.m. and every other weekend.
