POSITION SUMMARY

Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Health Information Management and Executive Vice-President of Finance. Works closely with all department directors/supervisors, IT, Material Management, Billing Office, HIM, Registration, and Case Management. Performs the primary functions of an audit specialist, CDM coordinator, assists in pricing strategies, reviews compliance practices in charging and billing of patient charges. Works with CMS and other payors in the denials and appeals process and oversees the RAC auditing and tracking activities

May be required to work other positions as staffing and needs indicate. Will complete department competencies checklist during orientation and commit to continuous individual and departmental quality improvement.

Job Requirements

1. RN degree! preferred but not required with clear understanding of the im! portance of accuracy and timeliness in
the patient medical and financial record, computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office,word
processing and spreadsheet programs.

2. Familiarity with third part reimbursement and contract management preferred.
3. Five years of clinical nursing experience or financial auditing or charge capture knowledge, with prior

keyboarding, hospital knowledge/experience in registration,billing/collection,medical records or case
management preferred.
