Description: University of Kentucky is at present looking to employ Nurse Clinical/UKHC right now, this position will be placed in Kentucky. With the call to action for nurses to achieve higher levels of education and trai! ning by the Institute of Medicine as well as American Nurses Credentialing Center newly employed ADN nurses will be expected to complete their BSN within 5 years from date of hire. UK has a rich tuition reimbursement program with 6 credit hours per semester provided free to all newly hired and current full time employees.

The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, continuous, and patient centered care in a collaborative work environment. The environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction, delegating duties to! unlicensed personnel, and adhering to University policies and! procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will be energetic, enjoy working in a team and assisting their fellow co-workers a! nd able to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast paced environment. The ability to communicate, educate and instruct patients and their family members in an effective manner is a must.

Knowledge of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Gordon's Functional Patterns, along with Roy's Adaptation model is a must in clinical practice at UK Healthcare. Candidate will also need strong problem solving, leadership, organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills along with basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet.

Preferred Education / Experience

Prefer a Bachelor's degree in nursing.
