Location: Kentucky

The Director of Case Management has responsibility and accountability for the management of the Patient Case Management Department. Must integrate the primary functions of the organization into the department while planning, directing, implementing and coordinating services of the department. Is responsible for the quality and quantity of services and for contributing to the organization's financial viability through effective resource management.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse

Case Management Experience

Supervisory role

Strong leadership and communication skills

Previous experience working with physicians is preferred

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required and a Masters Degree in a health care related field is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Possesses strong working knowledge of Medicare regulations and Utilization Review processes for governmental and commercial payors.
• Assumes role of resource to medical, clinical and administrative staff for utilization review and discharge planning processes.
• Supports clinical department functions and medical staff with effective payor relationships.
• Coordinates denial and appeals management functions with Business Office and HIM.
• Coordinates ongoing training for staff on medical criteria, discharge risk assessment, changes in federal and state regulations pertaining to Case -Management functions and Social Service function.
• Performs ongoing study of high volume DRG analysis and physician practice pattern analysis.
• Monitors avoidable days within patient stays for trends and process improvements.
• Facilitates Case Management meetings with multidisciplinary team.
